Bridge of Vocabulary 2 awarded to Mr. Burrows for use in Speech Therapy

Vocabulary (semantics/word meaning) is one of the five areas of language development affected in children with language delays and disorders. Research has shown that vocabulary size is one of the biggest influences on reading fluency and comprehension as well as on academic success. Students with delayed vocabulary skills often have difficulty keeping up with academic demands.


This grant purchased the Bridge of Vocabulary 2 program. This is an evidence-based program for receptive and expressive vocabulary teaching on a digital platform (iPad). Bridges of Vocabulary uses ten strategies for teaching vocabulary that is aligned with the core curriculum across grades.
