For some students who may be resistant to reading or writing, making the environment as comfy and cozy as possible is a powerful tool. This grant introduces flexible seating to the reading classroom, a measure designed to give students greater power over their learning environment. Reading is a lifelong investment for students, and they should have options to explore not only the content they read, but also how they choose to sit and engage with it.
