24 Speedskins for Typing awarded to Ms. Tedesco at Brooklake

This grant seeks to support third-grade learners in developing essential keyboarding skills, which are crucial for success on the entirely Chromebook-based NJSLA standardized tests. Many students at this age struggle with typing, often relying on "hunt and peck" methods that hinder efficiency and cause significant anxiety during assessments.

By acquiring Speed Skins for classroom keyboards, we can encourage muscle memory development by obscuring key labels. This forces students to focus on on-screen instruction, accelerating their typing proficiency and increasing words per minute. Ultimately, this initiative will allow students to concentrate on demonstrating their knowledge and understanding of content rather than being bogged down by the typing process, reducing test-taking anxiety and maximizing valuable classroom learning time.
