Decodable texts awarded to Ms. Monka at Briarwood for use in the 2nd Grade Resource Room
This grant will help to create skill-focused book bins where students can choose books directly reinforcing newly taught phonics skills (e.g., short vowels, digraphs) rather than being limited by reading levels. This initiative will support not only students in the resource room but also those receiving Wilson and other phonics instruction within their regular classrooms. By providing books that match their current skill acquisition, we aim to build reading confidence and shift focus from perceived reading levels to the mastery of foundational reading skills.
