60 floor cushions awarded to 4th grade teachers at Brooklake

It is very challenging for students to work in partnerships and small groups, while seated at desks in rows. Using floor cushions allows students to sit comfortably on the classroom floor and meet together in spaces around the classroom. Students can also use the cushions during Reading Workshop, and teachers can utilize the floor cushions to sit alongside a student, in order to confer one-on-one with them, or pull a few together for a small group. Providing students with flexible seating gives them a choice over their learning; students can choose how and where they will work in the classroom, so that they can create a space that is conducive to their learning style.
